For most women, the back of the arm remains a top trouble zone, particularly as they age. To combat the dreaded bat-wing effect, and rock the sleeveless tops like Michelle Obama, you need to target the triceps, says Daniela Nahas, co-founder of Best Body Bootcamp, and our guide to buff arms.
Triceps kickbacks "can really isolate the triceps muscle if done correctly," she says. Proper form, with the upper arms kept close to the body, is key, she adds.
Triceps kickbacks
1. Hold a dumbbell in each hand, and step back into a small lunge. Lean forward from the waist, with your back straight.
2. Bend your arms about 90 degrees, keeping your upper arms glued to your sides.
3. Extend your arms back until they're straight, making sure your upper arms stay close to your body.
4. Repeat 14 times; that's one set. Do three sets.
