Exercise can be a tough prescription for some people to take. Knowing this, Dr. Mike Evans of the University of Toronto made a video to answer “what is the single best thing we can do for our health” in a completely new way.
In December, Evans posted this whiteboard-style video advocating a dose of half an hour of exercise per day as preventive medicine. In recent weeks, the nine-minute “visual lecture” has gone viral, garnering 1.9 million views and counting on YouTube.
Evans is founder of the Health Design Lab at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Toronto, and a staff physician at St. Michael's Hospital.
