WINDSOR, ONT.—A hospital official confirms there is a second case of flesh-eating disease in Windsor, Ont.
Windsor Regional Hospital spokesman Ron Foster would only say today the patient is in “cautiously stable” condition.
Medical officer of health Dr. Allen Heimann says the patient is a 46-year-old man.
Heimann says this latest case is not related to the recent death of a 40-year-old man in Windsor.
Richard Montague died on March 8 of complications after contracting narcotizing fasciitis. He died 24 hours after finding a small sore on his thigh.
Heimann says the two men did not know each other and officials cannot find anything to connect them.
