Undeclared egg prompts recall of cheesecakes

OTTAWA—People with egg protein allergies are being warned not to consume Yiangello brand Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes.

The affected products, made by Dawn Food Products Montreal Limited, contain egg, which is not declared on the label.

These products have been distributed in Quebec and there has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Dawn Food Products is voluntarily recalling the affected products from store shelves.

The products are the Cookies and Cream Cheesecake in the 1.2 kilogram package and Half Moon Cookies and Cream 500 gram package.

(The 1.2 Kg package has a UPC code of 6 26217 00431 2, while the 500 gram package has a UPC code of 6 26217 00440 4.)
