Baby Jogger Jump Seat recalled

March 2, 2011 STAR STAFF

Hundreds of Baby Jogger Jump Seats have been recalled in Canada after reports of children falling out and injuring themselves – one even breaking a nose.

About 1,545 of them are also being recalled in the U.S. in a joint recall with Health Canada, Virginia-based Baby Jogger LLC, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Their item number is J7J50.

The seats, which can be attached to various Baby Jogger strollers, including City Elite, City Classic, and Summit brands, can detach from the frame if not attached and locked properly, leading to scrapes and bruises.

Three of the injuries occurred in the U.S. and one in Canada, according to the recall.

In Canada, the 490 products were sold at Direct Buy and other child product stores. Brands in Motion Inc. of Mississauga is Canada’s official Baby Jogger distributor.

The seats were purchased from January 2008 to July 2010.

Consumers should stop using the jump seat and contact Baby Jogger at 1-877-506-2213 to receive safety straps and assembly instructions. They can also contact Brands in Motion at 1-866-774-7177.
