STAFF REPORTER

Toronto Public Health clinics will offer free flu shots across the city beginning Thursday.

A total of 46 clinics will provide the vaccination at 16 locations in Toronto between Oct. 27 and mid-January.

"When you get the flu shot, you are not just protecting yourself — you are also protecting your loved ones, co-workers and the public," said Dr. David McKeown, Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto.

People most at risk are children 2 years of age and younger and people 65 years of age and older, according to Toronto Public Health. Also at a higher risk are residents of long-term care homes or chronic-care facilities, people with chronic health conditions and people who are obese.

For the full schedule flu vaccination clinics go to toronto.ca/health or call 416-338-7600.
