It seems the Brits are a study in contrasts when it comes to their sexual proclivities.
According to a recent sex survey by the U.K. research firm YouGov, the more liberal the party the more liberal the sexual behaviour. For example 93 per cent of Conservative voters claim to be heterosexual; 92 per cent of Labour voters make a similar claim and 89 per cent of Liberal Democrats.
Liberal Democrats are apparently the most adventuresome, with six per cent of them describing themselves as bisexual – twice the percentage of the other two main parties. Four per cent of those same voters, describing themselves as heterosexual, admit to having had sex with a member of the same sex. They’re also the sexually most experienced, according to the same survey of 1,843 respondents conducted for the Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine.
The survey also revealed that 30 per cent of Lib Dems own their own sex toy, compared to 22 per cent and 24 per cent of Tory and Labour voters, respectively.
At the same time, a surprising number of respondents over 35 – more than one in four British women – claim they are sexually deprived and never have sex, according to another poll conducted for a British TV show The Secret Guide to Women’s Health.
In that survey, 28 per cent of women said they never make love, with the highest percentage in Scotland: 38. However, 32 per cent of women in the Midlands said they have sex on a weekly basis. And women without children appear to have the most orgasms.
Meanwhile, porn reigns supreme among 52 per cent of Labour voters, who admit to watching it, compared to 46 per cent of Liberal Democrats and 43 per cent of Conservatives. However, Tory supporters are the most likely to have paid for sex.
As for British sex gods, none of the political leaders really cut it. Only one per cent of Labour voters envision having sex with Gordon Brown, while 11 per cent feel the same about Conservative leader David Cameron.
It would appear that George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig have nothing to fear.
