Three teenagers charged after attempted carjacking in Markham

A masked male pulled her from the vehicle as another attacker climbed inside, York Regional Police said on Tuesday.

The victim’s husband stepped in to help fight off the attackers, who drove off in their car, before crashing into another vehicle in the parking lot.

The attackers left in a third car, driven by another hooded male.

Police said they later learned the getaway car had been stolen in Peel Region on April 1.

Three suspects were arrested by York Regional Police inside a stolen vehicle on April 13.

They were arrested after a brief foot pursuit, when a loaded handgun with an extended magazine was seized.

An 18-year-old male from Toronto, has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence, Disguise with Intent, Possession of a Loaded Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, and Possession of a Prohibited Device

A 16-year-old male from Ajax and a 17-year-old male from Toronto also face charges.
